A Little History Dear Spiritual Warriors, As you know, over the course of the past 8 months, the world has been in the grip of the COVID-19 pandemic. It has touched the lives of all people worldwide. But none more than the already poorest among us. When the pandemic hit, lockdowns were issued worldwide. In the Philippines where many of my family lives, we were deluged with calls for help for food, water, medicine, and the like. Those who would normally sell items on the street were now banned from doing so. Fruit, vegetables, fish, and all forms of street vending and outdoor activity was shut down. These people who live from day to day on what they can earn or find were now without a means to eat. We were also deluged with requests from a small group of Catholics in Pakistan who care for orphans and handicapped children. Over the past 40 years, I have personally supported many of the poor in the Philippines, Over the past 7 years, I have also been involved with this orphanage in Pakistan. It was my personal quiet corporal works of mercy outside of my work. These Catholics in Pakistan are on the front lines in a Muslim country and have faced much persecution. Over the years I bought them wheelchairs, Christmas gifts, clothes, Bibles, Easter food, and more. For a time, the local power would be turned off to the orphanage in the evenings in the heat of summer causing all the fans to stop working and the children would suffer the heat of the night while trying to sleep. In response, I bought them a natural gas generator that was connected and setup and the children were able to overcome the tactic of unspoken persecution. These Catholics also quietly go from village to village holding religious education classes and prayer time with the villagers all undercover. I share this with you now to simply show and assure you, I know these people and have worked with them for many years. But when this pandemic hit, the burden to help went beyond my ability to personally do it alone. At that time, I decided to open this charitable request for help to the public and began a serious discerment process.. As I started to discern what was happening, I began to realize that God was calling The Warrior's Rosary International inc to expand its vision of spiritual warfare and praying the Warrior's rosary, to include embracing the corporal works of mercy, especially tending to the poor and imprisoned. For what good is preaching spiritual warfare to the choir if we leave the poor and suffering off our radar. Some stories I have already shared, like the little 11 year old boy Kirby who walked over an hour to find the Warrior's Rosary food distribution center to get food and medicine for himself and his failing grandmother. There are so many more that I have received from the Philippines and Pakistan of how our assistance has saved lives and fed hundreds of families from providing food and water to medical supplies and medical assistance including medications for TB, hypertension, X-rays, and more, all confirming to me a broader vision for The Warrior's Rosary International. I am excited to see where Our Lord and Our Blessed Mother take the Warrior's Rosary International in the future. I thank you for being part of this vision with me as we move forward on the battlefield of life together because it is people like you who have responded to this dire need with your prayers, purchases and donations to care for and feed the poor. The needs of the poor are still with us in both the Philipines and Pakistan, and I know it is only growing. If you have not joined us yet as an ongoing monthly donor, please consider doing so. The need remains urgent and you will be participating in exercising the corporal works of mercy to help and feed the poor.
